Another Great Competition from fesmedia Africa is launched!

28 September is the International Day for Universal Access to Information Day (IDUAI). In order to mark this significant day fesmedia Africa hereby launches a Radio Script Competition with the theme: Protecting Journalists and Promoting Community Radio to Provide Access to Information.

This theme highlights the importance of protecting journalists because of their critical role in providing access to information. News reports of late have highlighted that the lives of journalists on the continent continue to be under threat. Community radio is an essential medium in conveying relevant information in various languages- at local level, especially around the pandemic and as such also needs to be protected and promoted for its role in providing access to information.

Our panel of judges are:

  • Njuki Githethwa from Kenya who is a broadcast specialist, and an advisor to the Kenya Community Media Network (KCOMNET) Board,
  • Anthony Williams Auchab from Namibia who is a radio production lecturer from the College of the Arts, and
  • Thabang Pusoyabone from South Africa who is the Secretary General of the National Community Radio Forum of South Africa.

To Enter:

  • Entrants are required to write a 5–10-minute detailed radio script on How journalists have a role that should be protected in compiling information and how community radios play a pivotal role in disseminating relevant and reliable information for the public good.
  • Scripts should be emailed to khadijah(at)fesmedia.orgBY 18 October 2021 at 12h00 noon.
  • Competition winners will be announced online on the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, 02 November 2021.

Terms and Conditions

  • This competition is open to the Sub-Saharan African region ONLY!
  • Only radio scripts written and compiled in English, Kiswahili, French or Portuguese will be accepted.
  • All copyrights of produced content / material will be owned by fesmedia Africa
  • Fesmedia Africa will use all content / material as they see fit
  • With submission of entry, entrants consent to fesmedia Africa’s terms and conditions
  • Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into

CONCOURS DE SCRIPT RADIO FESMEDIA AFRIQUE

Le 28 Septembre est la journée Internationale de L'accès Universel à l'information (IDUAI). Afin de marquer cette journée importante, fesmedia Afrique lance un concours de textes radiophoniques sur le thème: La protection des journalistes et la promotion des radios communautaires pour l'accès à l'information.

L'objectif de ce thème est de souligner l'importance de la protection des journalistes en raison de leur rôle essentiel dans l'accès à l'information. Ces derniers temps, l'actualité a montré que la vie des journalistes sur le continent est toujours menacée. La radio communautaire est un média essentiel pour la transmission d'informations pertinentes dans différentes langues, notamment en ce qui concerne la pandémie. Elle doit donc être protégée et encouragée pour son rôle dans l'accès à l'information.

Notre jury est composé de:

  • Njuki Githethwa du Kenya, Spécialiste de la radiodiffusion et Conseiller du Kenya Community Media Network (KCOMNET),
  • Anthony Williams Auchab de Namibie, Professeur de production radiophonique au College of the Arts, et,
  • Thabang Pusoyabone d'Afrique du Sud, Secrétaire Général du National Community Radio Forum of South Africa.

Pour participer:

  • Les participants doivent écrire un texte radiophonique détaillé de 5 à 10 minutes sur la façon dont les journalistes ont un rôle à protéger dans la compilation des informations et sur la façon dont les radios communautaires jouent un rôle central dans la diffusion d'informations pertinentes et fiables pour le bien public.
  • Les scripts doivent être envoyés par e-mail à khadijah(at)fesmedia.org  AU PLUS TARD le 18 Octobre 2021 à 12h00.
  • Les gagnants du concours seront annoncés en ligne lors de la Journée Internationale de la fin de l'impunité pour les crimes contre les journalistes, le 02 Novembre 2021.

  • Ce concours est ouvert à la région de l'Afrique Sub-Saharienne UNIQUEMENT!
  • Seuls les scripts radio écrits et compilés en Anglais, en Kiswahili, Français ou en Portugais seront acceptés.
  • Tous les droits d'auteur du contenu / matériel produit seront détenus par fesmedia Afrique.
  • Fesmedia Afrique utilisera tout le contenu / matériel comme bon lui semble.
  • En soumettant leur participation, les participants acceptent les termes et conditions de fesmedia Afrique.
  • La décision des juges est définitive et aucune correspondance ne sera échangée.

Concurso da fesmedia Africa para Guiões para Rádio

O dia 28 de Setembro é o Dia Internacional para o Acesso Universal à Informação (DIAUI). Para assinalar este importante dia, a fesmedia Africa lança um Concurso para Guiões para Rádio com o tema: Protecção de Jornalistas e Promoção de Rádios Comunitárias para a Prestação de Acesso à Informação.

O tema realça a importância de proteger os jornalistas devido ao papel crítico que desempenham na prestação de acesso à informação. Notícias recentes põem em evidência que a vida de jornalistas no continente continua a correr perigo. A rádio comunitária é um meio essencial para a transmissão de informações pertinentes em várias línguas a nível local, especialmente no que diz respeito à pandemia e, como tal, também tem de ser protegida e promovida devido ao papel que desempenha na prestação de acesso à informação.

O nosso júri é constituído por:

  • Njuki Githethwa, do Quénia, é especialista em radiodifusão e consultor do Conselho da Rede de Órgãos da Comunicação Social  Comunitários do Quénia (KCOMNET),
  • Anthony Williams Auchab,da Namíbia é professor de produção de rádio do College of the Arts, e
  • Thabang Pusoyabone, da África do Sul, é o Secretário-Geral do Fórum Nacional de Rádios Comunitárias da África do Sul.

Candidaturas:

  • Os candidatos devem elaborar um guião de rádio pormenorizado de 5 a 10 minutos sobre Como os jornalistas desempenham um papel que deve ser protegido no processo de  recolha de informações e como as rádios comunitárias desempenham um papel fundamental na divulgação de informações pertinentes e fiáveis ​​para o bem público.
  • Os guiões devem ser enviados para o endereço khadijah(at)fesmedia.org ATÉ às 12h00 do dia 18 de Outubro de 2021.
  • Os vencedores do concurso serão anunciados online no Dia Internacional pelo Fim da Impunidade dos Crimes contra Jornalistas, dia 2 de Novembro de 2021.

Condições

  • O concurso está aberto APENAS à região da África Subsaariana!
  • Só serão aceitos guiões de rádio escritos e elaborados em inglês, suaíli, francês ou português.
  • A titularidade dos direitos de autor do conteúdo/ material produzido pertencerá à fesmedia Africa
  • A Fesmedia África utilizará o conteúdo/ material como bem entender
  • Ao apresentar a candidatura, os concorrentes dão o seu consentimento em ficar vinculados às condições da fesmedia Africa
  • A decisão dos juízes é final e não susceptível de recurso. 

Shindano ya uandishi wa miswada redioni lililoandaliwa na fesmedia Africa

Mnamo Tarehe 28 Septemba ni siku ya kimataifa ya upatikanaji habari  Ulimwenguni (IDUAI). Ili kuitambua siku hii maalum fesmedia Africa imetoa fursa ya shindano la muswada redioni lenye mada ifuatayo: Kuwalinda waandishi wa habari na kukuza radio za kijamii katika kuwapa uwezo wa kupata taarifa/habari.

Mada hii inaweka wazi umuhimu wa kuwalinda waandishi wa habari katika wajibu wao muhimu wa kuwezesha upatikanaji wa habari. Taarifa za hivi karibuni zimeweka wazi kwamba maisha ya waandishi wa habari yanaendelea kuwa hatarini ulimwenguni kote. Radio za kijamii ni chombo muhimu katika kutoa au kuwasilisha  taarifa sahihi katika lugha mbali mbali hata kuwafikia watu wa kawaida, hasa kuhusiana na majanga  na mambo kama hayo, chombo hicho kinahitajika kulindwa na kukuzwa kutokana na wajibu wa chombo hicho katika kutoa fursa/mwanya wa upatikanaji wa habari.

  • Washindi wa shindano watatangazwa kupitia njia ya mtandao katika siku ya kimataifa ya kukomesha hofu ya kuadhibiwa au waandishi wa habari kuonekana waharifu kutokana na kazi yao,2 Novemba 2021.
  • Angalizo:Haki na umiliki wa mawasilisho yote yatakuwa chini ya  fesmedia Africa.
